There are a little over 200 COVID-19 cases connected to the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago last month, but officials are saying the event is not considered a super-spreader event.

Thursday, Chicago Health officials reported 203 COVID-19 cases connected to the festival, calling it a number that they had expected and that isn’t linked yet to any hospitalizations or deaths.

However, given the crowd of about 385,000 people who were attracted to Lollapalooza they expect to see some cases. But at the moment there are no indications that any sort of “super-spreader event” happened at the festival, which required proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. About 90% of those who attended had been vaccinated.

If a surge were coming, according to health officials, it should have arrived by now.
