Many more adults plan on betting on the NFL this season.

The American Gaming Association found that more than 45-million Americans are expected to place bets this season.

That’s a 36% increase compared to last season.

The spike is likely due to the expanding regulated sports betting market.

Nearly two dozen states and the District of Columbia have already active betting markets, with Arizona, South Dakota and Washington poised to launch ahead of Thursday’s NFL opener between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
