Two gingerbread villages unveiled at Four Winds New Buffalo, South Bend

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ Four Winds Casinos have unveiled two gingerbread villages at Four Winds New Buffalo and Four Winds South Bend.

In total, more than 2,000 pounds of ingredients were split between the displays including 1,200 pounds of gingerbread, 400 pounds of sugar, 300 pounds of royal icing, and 50 pounds of chocolate.

Both gingerbread villages also feature an assortment of candies including 15 pounds of peppermint, 15 pounds of Danish butter cookies, 10 pounds of sixlets, eight pounds of jelly bellies, three pounds of candy corn, and 250 candy canes.

Planning for the displays started in June and they began the production of the gingerbread in mid-September, building the houses slowly when time permitted.
