A Southwest Michigan school district has closed their doors for the rest of the week in the wake of a threat.

The Lakeshore Public Schools in Stevensville announced Wednesday that they were cancelling in-person learning through the end of the week.

Superintendent Greg Eding says the district was notified by the Michigan State Police of a threat. A student claimed they were going to shoot up the middle school. The same day had been referenced in other threats.

There were no classes on Wednesday due to the threat, and classes Thursday and Friday will be virtual.
