Senator Todd Young is opposing Biden’s executive order requiring project labor agreements

Indiana Republican Senator Todd Young is opposing the Biden administration’s executive order that requires project labor agreements (PLA) on federal and federally-assisted construction contracts.

Young says mandating PLA’s will prevent qualified contractors from fairly competing for contracts on taxpayer-funded projects.

Indiana AFL-CIO President Brett Voorhies said Young “would rather side with low-road contractors who seek to win construction project bids by lowering their labor costs and assembling a low-wage, low-skill, easily exploitable workforce.”

Indiana AFL-CIO President Brett Voorhies makes his money from extorting union labor, so of COURSE he is going to oppose Young’s position. It’s entirely self serving!

The fact is, we don’t need to pay exorbitant union labor rates for unskilled labor for almost all of these construction projects. Biden’s EO was just a giveaway to the unions who donated to his campaign, and NOBODY in his circle cares about the impact of his policies on the average American citizen.

The incestuous relationship between the Democrats and the unions is corrupt and destructive.
