The Elkhart Common Council has approved the construction of two new public safety buildings for the city.

One of the sites will be a new headquarters for Elkhart Police and the Elkhart 911 Communications Center.

A separate site was also approved, which will serve as a training and storage facility.

It is unclear when both buildings will be completed or exactly where they will be built.

Apparently the City of Elkhart has spent a lot of money on the design work of these buildings but doesn’t yet own the land where the building might be built.
