An area teenager accused of murder is asking the judge to reconsider putting his case in an adult courtroom.

Anthony Hutchins has been charged with the 2021 murder of 6 year-old Grace Ross in New Carlisle. The 15 year-old is asking the St. Joseph County Judge to reconsider the decision to move him into adult court.

His attorney says the move contradicts earlier testimony from experts, and would not be in the best interest of the defendant. Court documents also suggest the lawyer says the move questions state law. A hearing on the matter will be held on March 30th.
