Code enforcement fines for the property are approaching $200,000, according to The South Bend Tribune. A local realtor says a developer wants to do something with the main building, which pre-dates The Civil War.

A century after it was built the former brewery was a center for retail, restaurants and more until the town’s attention was turned to Grape Road in the 1980s.

The Tribune reports the site is listed as one of the 10 Most Endangered structures in the state, according to Indiana Landmarks, a non-profit group that tracks Indiana’s historic sites that are worth saving.
