Alexis Morales autopsy results released

The autopsy results have been released on a missing mother who was found shot in her vehicle.

The autopsy on Alexis Morales showed that she died as the result of a gunshot wound, according to the South Bend Police. Morales and her 5-month old son Messiah were reported missing on April 13.

A Silver Alert was issued on April 18, one day before she was found in her vehicle. It was parked in the 400 block of South Bendix. The child was taken to the hospital.

The police announced on April 20 that Alexis’ death was being treated as a homicide, and the investigation is ongoing.
