A 9-year-old boy was rescued from a grain wagon in Pulaski County.
The incident happened on Tuesday, Sep. 27.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and used metal sheets to stabilize the child who was trapped in the corn.
Medaryville fire and EMS crews then arrived and used a grain cage to remove the settled corn from around the child before extracting him from the corn.

On the evening of 9-27-22 Pulaski County Deputies Alec Berger and Aaron Zimmerman were dispatched to a 9 year old entrapped by grain in a grain wagon. Deputy Berger arrived first on scene and was able to utilize past grain bin rescue training to stabilize the child using metal sheets preventing serious possible injuries common with grain accidents. Medaryville Fire First Responders arrived shortly after, working together with Deputies Berger and Zimmerman, were able to use a grain cage to remove the settled corn from around the child before extricating the child. The child was then checked by Pulaski County EMS, who were also on scene. Great job by Deputy Berger for assessing the situation and using his experience to begin stabilizing the child and also to the Medaryville Fire Department for freeing the child putting their technical rescue training and skills to work.
