Animal cruelty charges were dismissed against former towing operator, after a witness left the case.

55-year-old Paul Marshall, who worked at Crown Point, was scheduled to face a jury in Lake Superior Court.

Marshall had been filmed by an employee, dragging, punching, and kicking a cow in October 2019.

The witness says that he left the case, worrying that if he were to testify, he would struggle economically from loss of business, because of other farmers who would side with Marshall.

The Times of Northwest Indiana reports that without the witnesses testimony, the state cannot prove the case.
