Dowagiac man sentenced to prison, already serving in Indiana

A Dowagiac man has been sentenced to prison time in Cass County Circuit Court.

This, after already being in prison in Indiana and on Parole in Michigan.

The incident happened in September 2017 near Cassopolis.

Police say that 51-year-old Thomas Mosier, Jr and another person broke into a barn to steal gas after they ran out of gas.

The other person assaulted the homeowner.

Leader Publications reports that Mosier pleaded no contest to eight felony charges from the incident.

He pleaded guilty to a tampering with an electronic device charge, after cutting off his electronic parole monitoring device.

He could spend at least 20 years behind bars.
