You’ve seen stories about scammers all the time. They get creative in how they try to hoodwink you into giving them your money.
Senior citizens are especially vulnerable to scammers, which is why Congresswoman Erin Houchin is pushing a bill to protect the elderly.
The Financial Exploitation Prevention Act passed unanimously in the House on Monday.
The bill, which Houchin is co-sponsoring, shores up rules for mutual fund operators in order to make sure that any business they get does not come through exploiting seniors.
