A woman, reported to be unconscious, was taken from the scene of a head-on crash.

The collision happened around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 17, on County Road 20 east of County Road 1 when the woman, behind the wheel of an SUV, crossed the center line and struck a semi head-on.

The 29-year-old Elkhart woman was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

The Elkhart man driving the rig was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for a possible broken hip.

Factors into the crash are still under investigation.
