Michigan is making adjustments to prepare for the arrival of early voting in the 2024 General Election.
In Berrien County, Clerk Sharon Tyler says her office expects to be a lot busier with at nine days of early voting now mandated for state and federal elections in the state. On Monday, she told the League of Women Voters of Berrien & Cass County how the process will work. Given the choice of handling early voting at the community or county level, WSJM reports that Berrien will handle it at the county level.
Tyler expects there will be a need for 56 workers at two sites for the nine days of early voting, and called for the Legislature to move the state’s primary date from August to June to prevent problems with the early voting.
