Ground has been broken on a new Cass County Library District branch in Edwardsburg.
The event took place at the current library on Church Street, due to safety concerns at the actual construction site.
According to Leader Publications, the new library, located in the area of U.S. 12 and Section Street, will be about three times the size of the current building.
Work should be finished during the summer.

That’s not what libraries look like. Anyone been to one lately?
They’ve all but gotten rid of books, definitely gotten rid of old books, physical media, magazines, etc…
The library in South Bend has half a floor set aside for feeding the homeless (when they aren’t sleeping on the study tables) and a big chunk of the first floor is some sort of teen hangout. The only old books are the ones in the ancestry department.
But they still find the resources for Rainbow Story Hour! It’s a woke joke now.
