Both Republican and Democratic candidates in St. Joseph County say their campaign signs are being stolen.

The parties say people have come by to grab extra signs after theirs were swiped.

The chairs of both the St. Joseph County Democratic and Republican parties say they didn’t realize they had become involved in a “sign war” until the thefts started to get reported.

GOP chair Jackie Horvath says it happens every election cycle, but neither party is directing anyone to steal signs and instead are focused on getting people to vote.
