20-year-old hospitalized after attempting to flee from police, losing control of vehicle

State Police say a young Portage man tried to speed away from officers. Troopers tried to stop 20-year-old Ethan Schlyer, last week, for an expired license plate on I-69, near mile-marker 124. But, instead of slowing down, Schlyer apparently picked up the pace, hitting speeds above 100 miles per hour.
He eventually lost control, hit a guardrail, and ended up in an embankment.
Schlyer was then taken to the hospital for his injuries. Police believe he was drunk at the time of his crash.
