Latest about fire at Maxi’s Food and Spirits Barn

There’s still no official word about the cause of a fire that damaged Maxi’s Food and Spirits Barn on the south side of South Bend.

Crews were called around 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, to find heavy smoke pourng from the building.

They say the blaze began above the kitchen area. It took about an hour to knock out the flames and get it under control.

There was no report of any injuries.
