Superintendent discusses transition strategy for Lincoln Elementary School’s closure

It was back on Nov. 18, that the LaPorte School Board voted to close Lincoln Elementary at the end of the school year as part of its 2025-2026 plan. On Monday night, Superintendent Dr. Sandra Wood outlined the next steps for the transition.
Enrollment numbers were a major factor in the closure, and the focus is now on what happens next for the school and its staff.
Dr. Wood presented a month-by-month plan to ensure a smooth process.
After the holiday break, district leaders will meet with Lincoln staff to discuss their placements within LaPorte Schools.
