Mishawaka Police are, once again, stressing to stay off the railroad tracks, as a second person within the past four days has been struck by a train.

Police were called around 8:10 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, to the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks, near the South Byrkit Street crossing.

Police say the train, traveling approximately 20 miles per hour, struck a male that appeared to be sitting on the tracks.

When first responders located the male, he was still breathing. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment in critical condition. He later died due to his injuries.
