A woman was sentenced to two decades in prison after selling her friend drugs that caused her death.

Shannon Dickinson and Brandon Smith were charged for the death of Sarah Lansford in May for 2023. Police responded to Roys Avenue for a woman who was reported unconscious.

She was ultimately pronounced dead.

The Goshen News says Lanson had reportedly gone through an oral surgery and was seeking pain relief, ultimately purchasing fraudulent Oxycontin from Dickinson and Smith.

Police were able to conduct a controlled buy from the two, which led to their arrests.

Dickinson was sentenced for dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death to 20 years with the IDOC with 10 years served alternatively with a recommendation of 10 years served on home detention.
