Bank robbery suspect appears in court

One of two men accused of a bank robbery appeared in court last week.

43-year-old Melvin Levy, in addition to robbery and resisting law enforcement, is also being charged as a habitual criminal offender. He’s one of two men accused of robbing Fifth Third Bank in Elkhart on March 14.

Witnesses said one of the men brough the bank manager and another employee from their offices to teller counters where they demanded almost $8,000 in cash.

The Goshen News says officers were able to locate the men shortly after they left the bank. Levy’s jury trial was confirmed for August 18.
