Indiana to see temperatures rise again

The weekend may have been a nice break from the heat and humidity that Indiana had to deal with throughout most of July.

Mike Ryan, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, says temperatures will slowly creep back up throughout the week across the state.

You’ve got highs in the low to mid-80s Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Hotter temperatures and humidity may crank back up Friday, going into the weekend.

“Indiana may see heat indices that are back up into the 90s, maybe nearing 100,” Ryan says. “I don’t think the state will see quite the level of heat and humidity that we experienced last week.”

Ryan says to expect a daily threat for showers and storms starting Monday.

“It’s going to be isolated to scattered storms, so not everybody is going to see rain,” Ryan says. “These may typically pop up during the afternoons and early evenings before diminishing, a pattern that may repeat throughout the week.”

He says not to expect anything widespread and that temperatures will remain comfortable enough that the state won’t really feel the heat stress until around Friday.
