South Bend man killed after being struck by vehicle

A South Bend man was killed after being struck by a vehicle.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, near Fillmore and Pine Roads, just west of South Bend’s city limits.
The pedestrian, Adrian Antonio Cruz, 27, died at the scene.
Initial reports indicate that the vehicle, driven by a 58-year-old South Bend, was driving northbound when he struck the pedestrian who was also walking northbound in the roadway.
The driver consented to a blood draw. He’s been released pending toxicology results and further investigation.
