A 64-year-old Goshen man has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for multiple counts of child molestation.

David Charles requested a bench trial in Elkhart County Court, facing 10 counts of child molestation dating back to around 2001.

The bench trial was held May 27, with the state and defense later submitting proposed findings while awaiting a ruling. On November 3, Charles was found guilty on all 10 counts.

The Goshen News states he was sentenced to eight years each on Counts 1 through 8, six years on Count 9 with two years suspended to probation, and eight years on probation for Count 10. All sentences will be served consecutively.
