Les McFarland files for Marshall County Sheriff

Lieutenant Detective Les McFarland of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department has officially filed to run for Marshall County Sheriff in the 2026 Republican primary, moving from an exploratory phase to a full campaign.

McFarland cites months of conversations with residents and law enforcement as shaping his platform, which focuses on public safety, constitutional rights, fiscal responsibility and integrity.

A 35-year law enforcement veteran, McFarland says he’s ready to bring his experience and leadership to the Sheriff’s Office.
