Meetings held to answer questions on future Granger Microsoft Data Center

Three small meetings took place on Thursday, Feb. 26, to answer questions about the 900-acre Microsoft Data Center coming to Granger.
About a dozen people attended each session. People at the meetings asked about water usage, campus design, noise, power, and potential impacts on local property values.
St. Joseph County Councilman Dan Schaetzle said the meetings allowed people to get detailed information, including that the water used for cooling will not come from the local aquifer. Questions from the sessions will be shared with Microsoft and the county.
A larger community meeting is planned for late April, after the county finalizes a new noise ordinance.
Additional small meetings will also be scheduled, and anyone interested can contact Schaetzle directly.
