unsplash.com
The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved disaster assistance for several northern Indiana counties impacted by severe storms on March 10 and 11.
The declaration makes low-interest loans available to eligible residents and businesses in Jasper and Newton counties, as well as nearby counties including Benton, LaPorte, Lake, Porter, Pulaski, Starke, and White.
The loans can help cover property damage, economic losses, and home repairs tied specifically to the March storms. Damage from other dates is not eligible.
The deadline to apply for physical damage loans is June 8, while applications for economic injury loans are due by January 11, 2027.
Residents can apply online through the SBA loan portal or get assistance at local outreach centers.
For further assistance please contact the SBA disaster assistance customer service center by email at disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or by phone at 1-800-659-2955. If you are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services. Visit www.SBA.gov for more information about the SBA disaster loan program.
