New research reveals Indiana is the third-worst state in the U.S. to get laid off in, trailing only Vermont and New Hampshire.
The study by IT Asset Management Group (IT-AMG) analyzed December 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics data, finding that Indiana offers just 2.38 job openings for every layoff.
This puts the state well behind the national average, making it harder for displaced workers to find new roles compared to neighboring states.
