Fire destroys Zimmy’s Tavern in Union Michigan

Zimmy’s Tavern on Sunset Blvd. in Union, Michigan, has been destroyed by fire.

It’s believed the blaze broke out around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28.

There was no immediate word about what sparked the fire, but it is believed there was an explosion and the fire may have originated in the basement.

According to sources close to the scene, it’s believed one person was pulled from the building and taken to the hospital.

Crews on scene were reportedly working on a gas leak during the late morning and afternoon hours.

This year marked Zimmy’s 80th year in business, according to their website.
