A new TSA pilot program is bringing back gate-side send-offs and greetings without requiring a plane ticket.

Under “Gateside by TSA PreCheck,” non-flyers with a Known Traveler Number can now apply online to enter terminals at 13 participating U.S. airports, including Indianapolis International.

Eligible visitors in Indianapolis and 12 other airports must apply through the TSA website one to three days prior.

Approved guests go through standard PreCheck screening to meet friends or access terminal shops.
