A 67-year-old Milford man died after a three-vehicle crash at County Roads 17 and 40.

The Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team says a westbound minivan driven by a 76-year-old Osceola man entered the intersection around 4:55 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, and struck the rear driver’s side of a southbound car driven by William Walker.

Walker’s car slid into the path of a northbound SUV driven by a 34-year-old New Paris woman. The passenger side of Walker’s car struck the front of the SUV. Both vehicles left the east side of the road and came to rest nearby.

Walker was pronounced dead at the scene from internal injuries. The woman and two children riding with her were taken to Elkhart General Hospital. Lopez reported head, neck and chest pain. The 10-year-old girl complained of knee pain, and the 5-year-old boy had cuts to his face and chest. Both children were wearing seat belts.

The Osceola man left the scene after the first collision. Authorities later located his vehicle using Flock cameras.

The crash remains under investigation.
