Indiana’s gas tax holiday set to expire Wednesday

Drivers could see an increase at the pump, soon, if Indiana’s gas tax holiday expires as scheduled Wednesday.
Gov. Mike Braun said this week he may keep the state’s gas taxes suspended through early December. However, he indicated it is unlikely he will issue a new energy emergency order to keep those taxes suspended.
“Then we’re getting close enough to the legislative session to where we’ll all take a look at it in terms of what happens next year,” Braun told FOX 59.
State gas taxes have been suspended since April, saving drivers roughly 60 cents per gallon.
According to GasBuddy, Indianapolis gas prices are already up 99 cents compared to last year. Analysts warn that once the tax suspension ends, prices could quickly climb to around $4.50 or $4.60 a gallon within a few days.
