Michiana gas prices expected to jump about 20 cents, GasBuddy says

Drivers who need to fill up their tank may want to make their way to the closest gas station as GasBuddy is predicting gas prices will jump about 20 cents over the next day.

Gas prices were hovering between $1.92 and $2.09 per gallon throughout Michiana on at noon Wednesday, May 11.

Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy, said in an email to 95.3 MNC that the spike is due to “some refinery issues over the weekend [that] caused wholesale prices to jump, leading stations to pass the rise on to motorists today.”

Gas prices averaged between $2.50 and $2.70 per gallon in May 2015.
