Michiana schools closing early, cancelling after-school activities because of snow storm

As the weather gets worse, some Michiana area schools that didn’t close on Wednesday are either closing early or canceling after-school programs.

Indiana University South Bend is shutting down its main campus and the IUSB Elkhart Center at 11:30 a.m. All classes, events and activities after 11:30 a.m. are cancelled.

Ivy Tech Community College is closing its South Bend and Elkhart campuses at noon.

Several area K-12 schools cancelled all after-school activities, including Head Start and adult education classes, for their schools. Other organizations cancelled meetings and closed businesses for the day. See the list below.

This story will be updated as more cancellations and closings for Wednesday afternoon are announced.
