1965 Palm Sunday tornadoes: Stories of the storm 50 years later

ELKHART — April 11, 1965, Palm Sunday, started as a spring day like any other in northern Indiana but would seared into the hearts and memories of the community by the end of the day. 

Fifty years after the destruction, 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth are sharing stories of the storm through personal essays, videos, photos and much more of those who lived it. 

For some like Brenda Elliott, whose family was torn apart by the destruction, the healing continues every day. For others, it was a day on the job they will never forget.

Join The Elkhart Truth as they mark 50 years since the deadly day, and hear the harrowing accounts who experienced it firsthand.
