Two teenagers were charged Tuesday, July 21, in connection to a house party that two Penn High School graduates attended hours before they were found dead in their home in June.
Kyle Treber, 19, was charged with three counts of dealing in a narcotic drug and one count of possession of a narcotic drug, according to a news release from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. His bond has been set at $20,000 Corporate surety or $2,000 cash.
Lauren Schwindaman, 18, was charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor. Her bond was set at $150.
The charges come after 19-year-old Nick Savage and 18-year-old Jack Savage were found dead at their home in Granger on the morning of June 14. The brothers had attended a party on Bryanton Court the night before. Toxicology reports released Monday, July 20, showed that the brothers died of a combination of oxycodone and alcohol.

Schwindaman hosted the party at her home while her parents were out of state, according to court documents, and told those invited that the party was “BYOB” or “bring your own beverage.”
Treber attended the party and brought OxyContin, a brand name for oxycodone, according to court documents.
Police were called at about 1:30 a.m. July 14 to Bryanton Court and found Treber unresponsive. Emergency responders used a drug called Narcon to revive him. A bottle of OxyContin that was not prescribed to Treber was found in his pocket.
Narcon is used by police to help revive people who took opioid narcotics.
Witnesses told police that Treber had brought the OxyContin to the party and gave pills to other people who attended the party, according to court documents.
Two other bottles of oxycodone were found during the investigation that the Savage brothers may have had access to, according to court documents.
Police are still investigating the possibility that the Savage brothers may have taken oxycodone provided by another source or an additional source, according to the news release. Charges are not yet being sought against a suspect or suspects for providing the drugs to the Savage brothers.
