The man who was found dead along the St. Joseph River in downtown South Bend late Monday night, Aug. 3, has been identified.
Steven R. Patrick, 57, was found dead on the river bank near LaSalle Avenue and Michigan Street, according to a news release from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. Patrick was found by a police officer who saw a bicycle near the river that was there the day before.

An autopsy is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Kalamazoo, Mich.
