Fitness and wellness facility from Beacon Health could be built on Beacon Parkway

One of the first tenants on Beacon Parkway could be a fitness facility from the organization for which the road was named.

Beacon Health Systems and Memorial Health Systems will present a proposal to the Mishawaka Plan Commission on Tuesday night, Aug. 11, to build a 67,000-square foot fitness and wellness facility, WNDU reported.

The $15 million facility would include workout space and offer fitness classes. It would also house on-site physical therapy, sports medicine and an agility training area that features a field turf surface. It would not be as large as the Kroc Center in South Bend.

The proposal also includes plans for a shell building with no specific use.
