Man found dead in South Bend parking lot died of neck, skull fractures

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office doesn’t suspect foul play in the death of a 54-year-old Elkhart man found in South Bend over the weekend.

An autopsy showed that Robert Baron died of skull and neck fractures, according to our news partners ABC 57. He was found dead in a parking lot near Main and South streets at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11.

Officials are waiting on toxicology results to determine the manner of death.
