Deadly LaPorte County crash victim identified

The man killed in a single-vehicle crash in LaPorte County on Thursday, March 24, has been identified.

Terry Peterson, 38, of Michigan City was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on U.S. 20 west of Fail Road, LaPorte County Coroner John Sullivan said, according to WNDU.

Peterson was extricated from the vehicle, which ran off the roadway, crashed into a tree and flipped. Sullivan said he died after suffering blunt force trauma in the crash.

Investigators are still interviewing witnesses, but police believe speed and weather were factors in the crash.
