Gas prices steady in Indiana, down in Michigan

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have fallen by about 5 cents a gallon in the past week.

The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $1.96 per gallon Sunday. That’s about 49 cents less than it was at the same point last year.

It’s the first time in seven weeks that statewide average daily gas prices have decreased.

The lowest average price was about $1.91 per gallon in the Lansing area, while the highest average was about $2.05 per gallon in the Marquette area.

In Indiana, the average price for gas was $1.92 per gallon on Monday. That’s unchanged from last week’s average, according to GasBuddy. In St. Joseph County, the average price for gas was $1.94 per gallon. In Elkhart County, the average price for gas was $1.93 per gallon, GasBuddy reported.
