CHICAGO (AP) — A 25-year-old Indiana man faces a kidnapping charge after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Illinois after meeting her via the internet.

Chicago’s U.S. attorney’s office cites a complaint as saying that Keith Dewitt Davis, of South Bend, is also a suspect in three similar incidents. Prosecutors say they all occurred this summer at vacant homes in Calumet City in Illinois, just across the border from Indiana.

The complaint says the woman, referred to as Victim A, accuses Davis of threatening her with a gun at one point and also punching her in the face.

A statement from prosecutors says agents arrested Davis on Friday. It wasn’t clear if he yet had an attorney.

A conviction on the one count of kidnapping carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
