DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Police in Iowa say two officers who were ambushed and killed early this morning were sitting in their patrol cars when they were shot.

The shootings happened about two miles and 20 minutes apart.

One officer was with the Des Moines police and the other, with Urbandale.

Authorities say they’re developing suspect information that they’re not ready to share with the public.
