Elkhart Central High School placed on lockdown as followup to social media threats

The Elkhart Police Department did their due diligence Wednesday at Elkhart Central High School.

One day after social media threats popped up, officers were back at the high school investigating the threats. The school was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning, according to ABC 57.

It’s not known exactly what they were investigating in the school Wednesday.

Investigators with the police department Tuesday notified Elkhart Community Schools administrators of the threats and conducted a search in and around the campus. Once that was done, they determined there was no threat.

Police did stay on campus until activities were done as a precaution. Going forward, extra precautions will put in place by police.
