63-year-old man killed in Christmas Day house fire in Marcellus, Mich.

A 63-year-old man was killed in a house fire in Marcellus, Mich.

Crews from the Marcellus Fire Department were called to the 200 block of Woodland Street around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 25, on the report of a blaze.

While fighting the fire they found the home’s only resident, Gordon Booz, dead inside of the home, according to Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr.

Deputies were called to the scene to investigate. The exact cause of the fire had not been determined as of 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Underwood stated.

Cass County Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Marcellus Fire and Ambulance Service and the Newberg Township Fire and Ambulance Service.
