Victim in Miami Hills Apartments shooting identified

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit has identified the victim of a Thursday morning apartment shooting.

23-year-old Jovan Hobbs was found inside his apartment at the Miami Hills complex shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday. He was discovered suffering from a single gunshot wound and was declared dead at the scene, according to a press release.

The County Metro Homicide Unit has interviewed several witnesses so far in their investigation. No arrests have been made yet. An autopsy on Hobbs’ body is scheduled for Friday in Kalamazoo.
