Three arrested on drug charges at Elkhart hotel where three children lived

A search warrant at the Red Roof Inn in north Elkhart leads to three arrests and three children placed in protective custody.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department raided the room at about 5 a.m. Tuesday, finding methamphetamine, marijuana, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia inside, according to the Elkhart Truth.

25-year-old Eric Craigo’s home address is listed as the Red Roof Inn. He is facing charges of dealing methamphetamine, dealing a lookalike substance, possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, neglecting a dependent by dealing narcotics, possession of a controlled substance with a child present, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and sale or possession of a legend drug.

25-year-old Stara Craig’s home address is also listed as the hotel. She is facing charges of dealing methamphetamine, dealing a lookalike substance, possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, neglecting a dependent by dealing narcotics, possession of a controlled substance with a child present, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and sale or possession of a legend drug.

21-year-old Steven Quick of Elkhart is facing charges of maintaining a common nuisance, possession of meth, possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Two boys, age seven and one, and a 3-month-old girl were removed from the hotel and placed in the care of other family members.
