A man whose name is synonymous with local sports coverage has passed away. WNDU sports anchor and reporter Jeff Jeffers died in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 26, according to relatives.
For more than 40 years, Jeffers covered local sports for WNDU, including hundreds of Notre Dame Football games. Jeff was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
Jeffers is survived by his wife, Leslie, and their children. He was 64.
WNDU has posted a tribute to Jeffers on their Facebook page, where nearly 100 people had already shared their own memories and tributes within 30 minutes of the post going live.
We will pass along visitation and funeral service information once it is made known.

That voice…that unmistakable voice that let you know it was time for sports. God be with his family.
